About Tempsens Instruments (India) Limited
Incorporated in 1990, Tempsens Instruments (India) Limited is a diversified thermal engineering and specialised cable manufacturer engaged in the design and manufacture of customised temperature sensing solutions, electrical heating solutions, and specialised cables. The company caters to mission-critical applications across industries such as power generation, steel, oil & gas, petrochemicals, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, automotive, cement, nuclear, defence, and food processing.
Tempsens is the largest manufacturer of contact and non-contact temperature sensors in India by revenue, with an estimated 10.5% market share in the temperature sensor segment in Fiscal 2026. The company has also expanded its electrical heating business, strengthening its presence beyond its core temperature-sensing portfolio.
Between April 1, 2023 and March 31, 2026, Tempsens served more than 1,000 unique customers. Its customer base remains well diversified, with revenue from its top 10 customers consistently accounting for less than 19% during the period. The company follows a balanced Project/OEM and Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) business model. While Project and OEM orders provide access to large, approval-intensive projects, MRO revenues are supported by recurring replacement requirements, regulatory compliance, and plant maintenance.
The company has a strong international presence, exporting its products to more than 80 countries, including the UAE, Germany and Poland. Its global operations are supported by 15 manufacturing units and 28 distributors, with a presence across Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East, Europe, and North and South America. As of March 31, 2026, Tempsens had 731 permanent employees.

Market Leadership: Largest manufacturer of contact and non-contact temperature sensors in India by revenue and one of the largest electrical heater manufacturers in India, supported by a focus on indigenisation that creates significant entry barriers.
Diversified Business Model: Broad product portfolio, extensive industry coverage, and a balanced mix of Project/OEM and MRO revenues.
Strong R&D Capabilities: Established research and development capabilities supporting customised, critical applications and continuous product innovation.
Global Presence: International operations supported by strategic alliances, a diversified customer base, export sales, and long-standing customer relationships.
Diversified Customer Base: More than 1,000 unique customers served between Fiscal 2024 and Fiscal 2026, with limited dependence on its largest customers.
Recurring MRO Opportunity: Maintenance and replacement-driven revenues provide a relatively stable revenue stream, supported by plant uptime requirements and regulatory compliance.
