About Capital Infra Trust
Capital Infra Trust, formerly known as National Infrastructure Trust, is an infrastructure investment trust established on September 25, 2023, by Gawar Construction Limited (GCL) as its sponsor. It is registered with SEBI under the SEBI InvIT Regulations, with the aim of managing infrastructure investments.
GCL is an experienced infrastructure development company in India, specializing in road and highway projects across 19 states for government bodies like NHAI and MoRTH. Since 2008, GCL has completed over 100 road projects and currently manages 26 road projects under a hybrid annuity model (HAM) with NHAI.
The Trust primarily focuses on acquiring, managing, and investing in nine completed, revenue-generating road assets with a total length of about 682.425 km across several states. These assets are operated under NHAI concessions, with a weighted average residual concession life of 11.7 years as of September 30, 2024. The Trust also has the right to acquire additional projects through a Right of First Offer Agreement with its sponsor.
Capital Infra Trust's revenue comes from interest income on financial assets receivable from NHAI, road operations, maintenance, and construction services. As of September 2024, the revenue from its Initial Portfolio Assets amounted to ₹7,054.55 million for the six-month period ending September 30, 2024.
The Trust is managed by Gawar Investment Manager Private Limited, which leverages the expertise of its board and key personnel, with over 30 years of collective experience. The Sponsor, GCL, also acts as the Project Manager for the Project SPVs, overseeing operations and maintenance in line with the terms of NHAI concessions.
Axis Trustee Services Limited serves as the sole Trustee for Capital Infra Trust.
